★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A good way of seeing Salzburg from the river and some of surrounding scenery Commentary in pre-recorded German and English. Some ad-hoc comments from ship captain.
There is a covered deck and an open section at the rear with about 20 seats. They charge 18 euro instead of 15 euro. It is not worth paying the extra.
Drinks are available on board.
There are 2 flights of approx 7 steps each down to the boat. Disabled access is restricted.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I recommend including this in your Salzburg adventures if you have the city card. It is a quick 40 minute trip up and down the river to view the city, and it's outskirts from the river. The Capitan has good information and is entertaining. Enjoy the relaxing boat ride.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you know anything about small boats you will be impressed by the young lady skipper who handles a boat in a 10knt current. If not, then it is a calm and pleasant use of 40 minutes. Truth be told you are a tourist, so you don't really have anything else you have to be doing, so this is as good a way as any to pass some time. The sound system is very well set up and the narration is in German and English. The river runs quickly and it's shallow, so this is the only boat in Salzburg, but it is specificity designed for the job.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ By all means take the Amphibian Vehicle tour! It's very exciting, "almost safe" as the captain (who is also the inventor and constructor of the amphibian vehicle) assured us and it's ABSOLUTELY UNIQUE IN EUROPE. Do not miss this magic tour!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went on a rainy day with our 2 kids and chose the tour 1 which lasts 40 minutes on the ship. Just the right amount for our 1 yr old before she got too fuzzy. Our 4 year old loved it, there's a place in the front for kids to sit at the steering wheel and "help the captain", who btw made this experience very fun and entertaining. He loves his job and you can see that. When talking with him afterwards, he said "it's not even a job, it's a lifestyle".
