★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kleine Gaunerei. Zum Frühstück gibt's nur 3 trockene Scheiben Brot und sehr spärlich Aufstrich, kein Müsli oder sonstiges. Abendessen war nicht besonders. Preise aber wie bei anderen Hütten. Keine Duschen, was aber auf 3000m auch nicht immer erwartet werden darf. Ist eben keine Alpenvereins-Hütte. Der Hüttenwirt hat 3 verschiedene Gruppen und somit ca. 10 Leute gleichzeitig auf den Venediger geführt und von allen ordentliche Preise verlangt. Die einzelnen wussten vorher nicht, dass sie noch mit anderen Gruppen zusammengelegt werden. Das ist schon etwas frech.
 Small ripoff. For breakfast there are only 3 dry slices of bread and very sparse spreads, no muesli or anything else. Dinner wasn't special. But prices are the same as for other huts. No showers, which shouldn't always be expected at 3000m. It's not an Alpine Club hut. The hut keeper led 3 different groups and thus around 10 people at the same time to the Venediger and demanded decent prices from all of them. The individuals did not know beforehand that they would be merged with other groups. That's a bit cheeky.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were here during the early spring, the main hutt was still closed. The winter room was opened. There was wood inside and a small oven. There is a large bunk bed from wall to wall, there is room where the wood is kept and floor in front of the oven. So if need be you could fit 20 people inside the winter room. Overall great room.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice hut with comfortable 4 beds rooms and one large room. The location is excellent as a starting point for climbing to Grossevenediger.
The guide Peter is excellent. Beside technical guidance to the mountain top, he shares many of interesting information by the way and makes the climbing even more interesting.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a really good weekend at Defreggerhaus. We were a group of 10 people, had 2 cosy 5 beds rooms, dinner & breakfast was good and enough for the subsequent hike. The owner of the hut was also our guide to the top ofthe mountain, reallynice and cool guy! All in all, it was a perfect trip, the staff was really friendly as well as the other guests, we had no problems at all. Definitely recommended
