Friendly service in the restaurant on the train from Salzburg to Vienna, kudos for putting a couple of vegan & vegetarian options on the menu ?

Modern trains with categorized tubes (quiet zones, etc). Very clean, fast and comfortable trip!

OEBB's NightJet service is pretty terrible. After we went to sleep, the lights were randomly coming on by themselves in the middle of the night, without anyone touching the light switch. This was waking us up, we turned off the light, then they would switch on again some time later. This has meant for us a very bad night's sleep and an unproductive day at work. A subsequent Vienna-Rome journeys was met with the same experience. In the times when railway companies should tr to seriously challenge airlines for climate's sake, OEBB is certainly not doing its share. Also, their RailJet trains are not exactly a joy to travel by. Everyone is just slumped together in a big, crowded, non-descript, open coach. And this completely takes away the joy of train travel. It's really a bit like flying Ryanair as opposed to a nice old-fashioned airline. The EC line of trains (that usually go to Centra/Eastern Europe) are still the optimal compartmented design, but you are more likely to find those on DB/MAV/CD/etc (other rail commpanies, not OBB). Too bad this OBB company did not realise that people like the comfort and coziness of compartmented cars, rather than the bus-like promiscuity of their "flagship" RailJet.

Worst train operator I’ve ever seen in Europe!! Took 10+ inter-city rail trips in Europe - never experienced significant delays. Took 3 in Austria - one of them delayed for 90 minutes, another one delayed for 30 minutes. Terrible services. And please don’t call your train Railjet when average speed is 120km/h.

OEBB website is a good example of how one shouldn't do a site. UI/UX is as bad as if we were just at the beginning of internet era and IT community didn't figure out how to make a product convenient for users yet. Tickets/routes/seats selection is confusing, navigation experience is awkward (I cant even open navigation items in new tabs), weird autosuggestions (Flughafen Dusseldorf is the first autosuggestion to show for Flughafens when I am geographically in Vienna). There is tons of such small problems and one should do way too many clicks to achieve any goal there. So far it was only my time and nerves wasted, but today tickets costed me extra, just because seat selection is not obvious to find at the checkout.

Rude and careless staff. When you complain to the manager about the terrible service he tells you people with come anyway to buy tickets from them and that it's much better than Budapest,Hungary and Prague where they won't sell an Arab a ticket.
