Hotel Josl

Staff were excellent - very attentitivea nd friendly. The addition of the swimming pool and the refurbishment of the Wellness Suite were very welcome. Food plentiful - put weight on despite skiing all day!

Great hotel I enjoyed staying here. and a nice wellness with fabulous swimming pool. Only backside for me no wine specialist and no explanation of your served meal's ( not the exclusive feeling to the guests )

Absolutely 5 star food service and luxury and an AMAZING spa in a fantastic resort. Stayed at the Josl for 4 nights with a friend. This place is magical it is a modern hotel but with cute touches that give it quaint Austrian charm. It literally is ski in ski out, the boot room its about 20 metres from the end of the slopes. Fantastic big room that included a coffee maker. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was large and well equipped with a powerful shower although my only comment would be the shower head didn't stay in position very well. Lovely large balcony and nice big wardrobe with lots of shelves. Food was plentiful and of a very high standard, 5 courses every night plus salad. Extensive wine list very reasonably priced. Breakfast and afternoon tea absolutely superb. Staff very good in the restaurant, friendly and very good service. The bar was cute warm and welcoming and service always excellent. The point for me that made this place so superb was the warm friendly and attentive staff. Nothing was too much trouble, one day we had just missed afternoon tea by 10 minutes and the waiter went and found us some pastries, this is really great service and they all seemed to go the extra mile. Our check in was just wonderful we were sat down offered a drink and it was very welcoming and friendly. The staff made an effort to talk to the guests and were so The spa is one of THE BEST i have used for a while, and I travel extensively. A large number of different saunas, steam rooms and relaxing areas complete with open air Jacuzzi. A few of the saunas overlook the slopes and there is an outside balcony you can cool down on inbetween using the sanuas. It was absolutely spotlessly clean,and again very friendly staff never ever have I really seen a spa area so clean other than the hotel Avalon in Berlin which is one of the best hotels in the world, the Josl is up there! The boot room was great but the ski racks very difficult to open as they appeared to not open far enough, great boot warmers and very easy access to the slopes. The resort is very special its my second visit and its one of my favourite resorts, partly also because of the very fast transfer time from Innsbruck, not a huge ski area but the trade off is that there are NO QUEUES for lifts and the slopes very quiet, the resort is high so the snow quality very good and they look after it very well. A lot of ski in ski out properties, limited apre but definitely enough to keep you going. I will be back soon for my third visit without a doubt. This hotel is absolutely fantastic and probably the best ski hotel i've stayed in over 10 years I cant rate it highly enough.

Our 5th stay at the Hotel Josl. Super modern well run hotel, excellent staff with a friendly but not invasive manner. Great relaxed atmosphere all promoted by the professional staff. Rooms are bright, modern, very clean and well maintained. Restaurant staff looked after us impeccably under their highly experienced manager Jozsef. The roof top spa is a delight at the end of a hard skiing day with the outdoor jacuzzi giving stunning views of the valley. Access to the skiing couldn't be better. Will return again without a doubt and would highly recommend to anyone who wants a change from the tired Austrian varnished pine look. Really do love this hotel and it's staff, try it !!

Have been to Obergurgl a few times, and the Josl is the best so far, the rooms, location and facilities are excellent with the spacious boot room (you have allocated boot warmers!), and amazing spa, set over the top two floors, being the highlights. The staff couldn't be more helpful and welcoming, without being overbearing. The bar is excellent, well lit, with a cosy fire. The food is very good, with service attentive and efficient, you certainly won't go hungry. It may not be the cheapest, but you don't ever feel it's not money well spent.

This was our first time at Hotel Josl and we had a great time. It's very convenient for the slopes, and kit rental - both right next to the hotel. The staff were friendly and attentive and the boot room first class. The meals were fantastic, with a great spread for each meal (including afternoon tea from 2 - 4:30). The spa was just as the picture s show and a great way to relax after skiing. We've been to Obergurgl many times and always had a great time with no queues and all chair lifts are covered. We'll be back.

Wonderful hotel with super friendly staff. Food was 4* standard, rooms were big enough for the price. Shower in the bath was a bit awkward located. For skiing: just 2 minutes walk to the lift Skiroom has no lockers, is semipublic, so if you really want to be on the safe side, take a lock with you
