Got a car last minute on a Sunday. Had a couple of minor problems with weather delays (road closures) when returning, but the customer service representatives were fair and very helpful. Thanks Avis

Very bad service. They have over booked the cars, and promise to pay back by renting car from other company, but then when the time comes to get refund, they donot keep their own promises, even though you have written documents. Florian Winkler avoiding his duty, and being very unpolite even rude. Altough it was his fault in the beginning?? so -5 points to Avis in Innsbruck airport.

Booked a car through British Airways on a discount. Car not available at pickup, ended up having to pay almost twice the price. Will never use Avis again unless this is resolved. The ball is in their court.

SCAM!! BE CAREFUL !! ! Update: we get emails from different managers from AVIS who always says no worry we will come back to you and never. If you exists Melinda, please contact me asap. Our lawyer suggests to get contact the local police. **we booked online directly with AVIS for a compact car without extras for ~50€ a day. we got the Avis confirmation email with the price. when we came to take the car, staff is unfriendly and in a hurry. The man at the counter doesn t speak english (at an airport?) we show the booking confirmation with the price, the man ask to sign for the contract and there in small we see that the PRICE HAS INCREASED BY ALMOST 4x?!! without any extra insurance or anything. this cannot be legal?! it's insane, no one would rent a compact car for >150€ a day! I ask in broken german if it is the guarantee/caution (usually there is one but of few hundred euros) and the guy mumbles yes, so we ask to confirm that if we bring back the car in order and on time etc we will pay the agreed price of ~ 50€ day. he mumbles yes. we decided to trust Avis because we never had any problem with any car rentals, we are on holiday and the guy is in a hurry. upon return it's another person, friendlier who speaks better english. he couldn't return our money although everything was fine with the car, gas and we were in advance. he couldn't understand the booking difference and asked us to deal with customer service directly, how convenient. we never had issues with AVIS in the US nor western europe before. we prefer to book directly rather than using a third party. well it didn't help to TRUST AVIS. if they don't refund us quickly we will take further action

They are scammers… best avoided. The business model seems to be getting money from customers for scratches they didn’t make. Probably asking the next customers again for the same repairs.
