★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Deserves 0 stars for service. Asked attendant a simple question if our train ticket also covered ferry to which we got a rude no. Seemed fair so we stood to the side to discuss price of ferry to which the attendant began mocking our voices like a child then shut the window. We walked off because of the price and while up the hill looking back we see the attendant pissing on the side of the footpath with other tourists in plain sight. Unbelievable. Ferry probably nice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly and helpful - especially for the amount of passengers that come through on a daily basis. As of Jan 2020, it was 3 euros per person for a single trip - 6 for round trip. I highly recommend getting the ÖBB app for mobile and purchase your train tickets so you do not have to wait after arriving on the other side.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The good ship Stefanie II runs back and forth between here and the train station on the far side of the lake. It can be quite a beautiful experience if you put up with all the smoking

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful views. Ships run exactly on time, and are coordinated with the trains. We left on the last train out at 18:36, and were able to get to Salzburg by train on an Einfach Raus Ticket through Attnang-Puchheim. To find the connecting ‘R’ train in Attnang Puchheim, use the OBB app but do not search all the way through to Salzburg. Just search the train options from Attnang-Puchhheim to Salzburg, and the. It will appear, Regional Train 5082 leaves Attnang-Puchheim at 19:56 bahnsteig 3, arrives Salzburg Hbf 21:22. That leaves about 5 minutes for the connection but it’s a tiny train station so not a problem.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ferry between Hallstatt train station and Hallstatt town which syncs with the trains both arriving and leaving. €3 each way. Winter times in attached pics. Very reliable and can get busy so arrive at least 15mins early.
