★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A beautiful piece of history, it was built in the year 1765. You can stand underneath the arch, touch the stone and also pass through it!
Its also a stop on the hop-on hop-off tourist bus, and quite close to the old town area.
A quick spot that can be covered while visiting the other more important spots.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One arch is much like the next one to most of us, but this one at least provides some additional interest with its somewhat tragic history. One one side, this may be a triumphal arch, but on the other, it is quite the opposite. It is worth checking out and learning the history behind the decorations. You probably won't be able to avoid it in any case, thanks to the central location.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I first noticed it on the way to the accommodation from the Hauptbahnhof. I managed to make my way back a few days later to take a closer look.
There were stautes on the top of the arch and reliefs on the sides. There were 4 reliefs, 2 on each side and they were all different. It was raining and night time so couldn't get a really good look but what I did see was quite nice.
