Das Denkmal ist den Menschen gewidmet, die dem Nationalsozialismus Widerstand leisteten und dafür mit ihrem Leben bezahlen mussten. Mittlerweile sind die Namen von 124 konkret benennbaren Personen an den Seiten den Denkmals (auf der zugehörigen Website kann man Kurzbiografien jener Personen finden). Die Wappen der neun österreichischen Bundesländer wurden kreuzförmig angeordnet im Gitter. Wenn man in Innsbruck ist, dann ist dies sicher eine der Orte, die man nicht verpassen sollte. Auch der Platz um das Denkmal selbst läd zum verweilen und Nachdenken ein. Gastronomie und Innenstadt sind ebenfalls nicht weit entfernt. This beautiful monument is located in the middle of Innsbruck on Eduard-Wallnöfer-Platz. The memorial is dedicated to the people who resisted National Socialism and had to pay with their lives for it. In the meantime, the names of 124 specifically identifiable people are on the sides of the memorial (you can find short biographies of those people on the associated website). The coats of arms of the nine Austrian federal states were arranged in a cross shape in a grid. When in Innsbruck this is definitely one of the places not to be missed. The space around the monument itself invites you to linger and reflect. Gastronomy and the city center are also not far away.

Mit weißem Marmor und fünf Öffnungen wo befinden sich schmiedeeiserne Gitter mit den kreuzförmig angeordneten Wappen der Bundesländer. The memorial was erected in 1948 on Landhausplatz. With white marble and five openings where there are wrought iron bars with the cross-shaped coats of arms of the federal states.
