★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not really a museum. The exhibition is very poor and the toys are the same you can find in any second hand marked put together without criteria and explanations. The only interesting attraction is a Carrera race track that doesn't work good and must be paid extra (5€ for 30 min.). The man at the entrance is friendly like a fist in the stomach. Absolutely no go.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent location for kids up to ~ 10. A mixture of real active play and a classic exhibition with antique toys.
There is an exit in the Mönchsberg parking, which leads you directly to the beautiful courtyard.
Our two boys (6 and 9) had a really good time there.
-1 star for the fact that you need to pay extra for the Carrera racing track.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great Museum, Had lots of tours here over the years.
The old hospital itself is worth checking out!
Great tours for children with little handicraft classes, lovely! Toys from every epoch, from every material.
Great for rainy days.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely lovely activity for a child starting from 2 years old. Awesome set up and exhibition, location and themed rooms! Entrance fee is reasonable. Mind that there are no food stations, cafes or restaurants. Toilets, elevator and baby/mother room is well equipped.
There is a railroad, a slide, and pirate boat! Enjoy your time!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a very interactive museum if you go with kids, but also as an adult you get the chance to play a little bit and have some fun. Be ready to leave your shoes at the entrance and grab a pair of Crocs to go around.
Included in the Salzburg Card.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to spend an hour or two with kids. It's very interactive with some fun antique toys to view in between. We went with our 3 year old and he loved it, especially the blocks floor and the marbles section.
