The pork medallions were dried out and had become tough, same goes for the serviettenknödel. Eierschwammel sauce was very nice but more was needed to get the rest of the meal down. It was fine, but I don't think i'd bother going back

That’s also where this places’ name derives from, as Schinakl is a term for a special kind of ship and this place is located right at the river banks of the Old Danube, the Alte Donau. The interior is nice and traditional Austrian in style with many little niches to have good talks with good friends. Here at Zum Schinakl you can have these typical Viennese, respectively Austrian dishes like the Wiener Schnitzel, or the Zwiebelrostbraten, which we both enjoyed. A	Akshay Jugran on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really helpful staff. The schnitzel did not come with the regular greens but oh my god. The batter is light and crispy, the meat is cooked to perfection. The potato salad is spot on. The views from the terrace are amazing. A must visit when in Vienna.
I	Ivan Leš on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I always appreciate Austrian cuisine, but it's the overall experience that's important, and not just the food. For me, Zum Schinakl has that traditional (but not old) gasthaus feeling, with excellent beer (I recommend Forhenburger draught), very helpful and pleasant staff and alwayw a few kind locals to make the place more cosy. My German isn't that good, but everybody was really helpful and patient to try and understand me as well as make themselves understood. The food was also really really good and ample and I got absolutely stuffed there. I understand that during sunny summer days you can rent a boat that doubles as a waited dining table with their specialties served on it, while you float gently on the Danube.

My family said the food was very good. I felt like it was a bit pricey, though. Unfortunately, I found 2 hairs in my salad, and that made me not finish my meal. Therefore, I took 2 stars away from my review.
