★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The garden is nice. Everyone comes to see the Pegasus fountain that is in the Sound of Music, but its only in the movie for a few seconds. Overall the whole place was worth walking through if your int town and it was free. I did not do any tours.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Pegasus fountain is situated in the Mirabell gardens. It makes an appearance in the Sound of Music and so attracts a lot of SOM pilgrims.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Definitely worth going across several days, our first visit it was packed with bus loads of tourist (granted I’m a tourist myself), it made moving hard. Other visits were more pleasant and I tend to think the castle in the background becomes more of an attraction then the horse!
