Incredible - I'd give it 20 stars if I could. The ballroom is simply stunning and being able to attend a performance of Mozart music in a palace...are you kidding! We chose this venue to see a performance because of the location (in the heart of Historic Salzburg), venue (beautiful ballroom in the Palace) and musical pieces being played. The musicians were amazing and the final section was a selection from Mozarts most well known and loved work. If you don't do anything else in Salzburg, do this.
A tricky part is getting the tickets. The best thing is to get them ahead of time and pay the extra 6 euros for reserved seats. There are a few ways to purchase them but we got ours on the day from a ticket seller located very close to Mozarts birthplace.
We chose to go here instead of the fortress to avoid having to deal with the funicular and because the venue is significantly nicer. Also it's slightly less expensive but I would have paid more.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had the joy of hearing the Orchester 1756 play Mozart and Vivaldi on New Year's Eve. Z engaging and powerful performance, and something I have not experienced before. A must when in Salzburg.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited the Vivaldi concert on Saturday, very nice ensemble and great location at the Marble Hall. The venue is up on the first floor of the Mirabell Palace, don't get lost! The Palace Concert was my first classical concert ever and absolutely loved it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent concert. Adequate directions and signs. Place is cramped and seats are not comfy. We were seated at the 9th row with tall people infront of us so we had no good view of the performers. Class 2 seats had better view than us.
