A Templar's Church, in a very beautiful place of Vienna. If you walk in the area, make sure you check when they have concerts in this tiny Church. It's totally worth it!

We enjoy visiting the Church of St. Michael at Michaelerplatz. This 13th century church offers a chance to see surviving building structure that spans a wide range of historic architectural styles. This is why it is one of our favourite churches to visit in Vienna. Here you can see early Romanesque interior arcades, Gothic nave structure and church tower, Baroque style chapels, Byzantine 'Maria Candia' alter centrepiece as well as the Neoclassical facade and Rococo style 'Fall of Angels' sculpture facing the Michaelerplatz square.

Unbelievable experience especially in the evening hours. Opened until 8.00 PM throughout the year. Everything in dark, just the altars lightened, and beautiful early medieval Christian music in the background. Great religious and spiritual experience.

Michaelerkirche or St. Michael's Church is located cross the street from St. Michael's Gate at the Hofburg Palace. It used to be the parish church of the Imperial Court. As one of the oldest and the few preserved Romanesque buildings in Vienna, Michaelerkirche's history spans over eight centuries. The late 18th century high altar is decorated with a stucco alabaster Rococo sculpture "Fall of the Angels" and a Byzantine icon of Virgin Mary. The 18th century gilded pipe organ is the largest Baroque organ in Vienna and it was played once by Joseph Haydn. Moreover, Mozart's Requiem was played for the first time here at a memorial service for Mozart himself on 10th December 1791
