Fast, efficient, courteous people. As long as you create an appointment and have the documents, it all goes smoothly

I went there for replacing my driving license. The queue was short. The person from the information desk refused to speak in English. Maybe he doesn’t speak English... However, the person from the office where I left the documents was very kind and patient and had no problem in speaking with me in English. Therefore, my suggestion is that the person from the information desk should be able/willing to speak English as well.

Even with the waiting line with over 50 people in the morning you will be served within 15mins max. Great staff

Typical Austrian/German bureaucracy, but if you just wait patiently then you'll get everything done. Anyway, works much better than elsewhere in the world, I can promise you that! There is a copy machine which charges €0.34 a copy, and a photo booth. They don't like speaking in English, which is understandable, but if you don't get aggressive about it and are prepared to wait, then in time they will help you in English

I had to call several times to get an appointment for picking up my drivers licence. Most of the time My call was forwarded to the wrong department and I was blamed even though they literally redirected me there. When asking for the phone number of the right department I was redirected and again - blamed. Most workers are very rude and don't seem like they want to help you. Furthermore, the working hours are a joke. However, you can call from 8 - 15:30. Can't wait to never have to call there again.

For foreigners in Vienna: changing your driving licence is incredible simple and fast. And you deal with very polite and efficient officers

It was an awful experience with some of the most incompetent and rude people I ever met in Austria. I have repeatedly and politely asked over the phone and via email for an appointment to change my driving licence and they didn’t reply not even When I personally went in there. They hung up the phone and told me to come on Monday at 8AM and when I went in there, they told me to come again at 11:30AM. The order of the appointments was not respected and the employees behaved unprofessionally. Although I told them that my driving licence was going to expire at the beginning of September, they didn’t prioritize or action the request in due time and I had to I go in there 2 weeks later. Currently I am still waiting for them to confirm whether they’ve received the corresponding payment or not. It’s outrageous!! They kicked me out of the place when I complained and the old employee didn’t even want to tell his name. I have never been treated that awful in my entire life. These people should be evaluated, fired and the whole process of changing the driving licence should be processed entirely online, as the state would spare some financial resources wasted in vain on incompetent people unable to deliver qualitative services. We are citizens, we’re paying taxes and they don’t even respect us.
