Apeductul de 69 mile a fost inaugurat pe 24 octombrie 1873 . Vienezii au cea mai bună apă la robinet ,iar în oraș există peste 1000 de cișmele cu apă din Alpi!
 Eduard Suess, geologist and professor of paleontology, was also part of the commission (of 12 people) for supplying Vienna with water from the Alps. The 69-mile aqueduct was inaugurated on October 24, 1873. The Viennese have the best tap water, and in the city there are over 1000 taps of water in the Alps!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This monument stands in tribute to Eduard Suess, a 19th and 20th century Austrian Geologist who was an expert in the geology of the Alps.
The monument is a bust of Eduard Suess. It’s fairly simple and very easy to miss as it’s on the grassy area Hochstrahlbrunnen. The monument is a life sized marble bust of Suess and depicts him as an elderly man with a moustache and full sized beard. To be honest, there’s not much to see and I’d only take a quick look if you have time and in the area.
