Dňa 21. júna 1828 prišiel vlakom do Gloggnitz. Karo l VI, jeho manželka Elisabeth Christine a ich jedenásťročná dcéra Maria Theresia , odkiaľ prešli do Semmeringu cez novo vybudovanú cestu dvorným kočom.
Charles VI, the father of Maria Theresa, decided to expand trade with the south even further and build new roads. In 1726, a commission came to Semmering to assess and design a road with a slight elevation from Göstritzgraben to Bärensattel, and after crossing Myrtengraben, it was to reach the border crossing. The surface of the road was to be a gravel cover. On June 21, 1828, he arrived by train in Gloggnitz. Karo l VI, his wife Elisabeth Christine and their eleven-year-old daughter Maria Theresia, from where they crossed to the Semmering via a newly built courtyard road. On this day, the Carolusstraße in Semmering was inaugurated. Today, the monument to Carolus from 1728 commemorates the imperial building and the magnificent path in the parking lot in front of Hirschenkogel.
