Second reason: cake selection and coffee creations
Cakes are for every taste if you’d like sth lighter or a more traditional and heavier chocolate cake (Sachertorte, Haustortr), Creme cake (Dobescake) fruits (Himbeertorte).
If lucky you get one of the outdoor tables and can people watch.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited Cafe Fürst which is in the center of the city. It is excellent cafe to sit outside and join the wonderful atmosphere of Salzburg. The cake, the coffe and the service is really very excellent and the "Fürst-Mozartkugel" is simply amazing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very cute place full of history in the heart of Salzburg. You can get wonderful coffee, chocolate, pastries and their famous Mozartkugel.
Service was very nice.
The confectionery counter is a bit overcrowded though!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We knew we would be overcharged by choosing this place but we did not expect that the quality would be so poor. We ordered Glühwein which turned out to be a Glühwein flavoured tea and hot chocolate which was basically frothed milk with cacao powder, didn’t taste of chocolate at all. Combined with inattentive service this place sadly does not live up to its history.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The cakes and the chocolate were very nice, but the coffee was so bad. I don't think I've ever had such a bad coffee. We had two cappucinos. It was a very light beige colour. It was just milk with the faintest taste of coffee. 4,30€ each. Complete rip off for some frothy milk. I got a coffee from a machine in the carpark after for 1€ and it was actually better than the cappucino.
For good coffee in Salzburg, I recommend NUR CAFÉ.
Edit: Have since found out that they are using an automatic coffee machine, which explains a lot. That is absolutely outrageous. Never in my life have I been served a coffee in a café from an automatic machine. How can such a prestigious café serve anything but the best coffee? Shocking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited this place on a Monday evening. They checked the 2g certificate and then let us in and provided a table. We ordered cappuccino and latte along with a cake. The coffee tasted okay and I did not like the cake. The person who served us the coffee was polite. Based on the how crowded this place and so many good reviews, I expected better tasting coffee and cakes. It is also little bit pricey. However, the ambience is great, and sometimes it gets too crowded.
