As a tourist, it was incredibly easy to get a prepaid SIM card here. The staff was extremely friendly and very straight forward. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes.

I purchased a sim card from a local supermarket, was told it would work, wasn't until I was 5 minutes into using it that it failed. Arrived at the A1 store, took a ticket and waited. When the staff member called out your number her was fluent in English (a great help), and sorted out the sim. 10 out of 10.

Liers and Scammers Lied to me just to get a sale. Go somewhere else Do not use A1 they are definitely not A1. Salesman lied to me about a sim card I purchased, said it will work outside of Austria. When I left Austria it didn't work.. Happy to take your money and not supply the service as promised. Do not use this corrupt so called business....

Salesman was adamant a sim I purchased as an international tourist would work all over Europe as soon as I crossed the border out of Austria as promised it didn't work. Lied to my face just to get a sale. Do use A1 there are plenty of honest phone company's. They refused to refund me after a month of them arguing with me via email and Facebook messenger. After withdrawing your queue thiket , begins one long waiting and waiting and waiting .. ,as they don't have enough selling attendants , also no benches or chairs ( or to be more exact the ratio benches / people waiting to be serviced is in retrograde proportion. Be aware : if somebody intend to pay tel bills at the tills of A1 they will have 9 euro extra added upon for the office's services . Outrages .

Needed SIMs while visiting Vienna, the person who served me was a professional and give all the needed details.

Apparently it is extremely difficult or extraordinary for A1 Shop employees and other A1 employees to communicate through e.g. the phone or email...! Worst customer support ever! This is beyond my understanding especially for an Internet provider... We have a technical issue with the Internet installation (brocken optical cable) that the property management of the building is working on. This was discovered by the A1 technician who came to install the device. The technician submitted a report according to which we were supposed to get a cube from the A1 Shop until the problem would be fixed. The A1 support and the A1 Shop employees told us this is free of charge. Besides charging us the cube, the installation and the Internet access through the cable that we didn't have, the A1 Shop employees asked us the cube back because "It was the wrong cube" - only available through a contract! So now that we returned the cube, we are supposed to keep paying A1 for a service that is not provided to us while the A1 support team told us to go to the A1 Shop and pick up the correct cube and therefore we wouldn't have interruptions when it comes to the Internet access. The support team told us that the A1 Shop employees will be informed about our case when we would go to the shop the 3rd time! So we visited the A1 shop 3 times, told them what THEIR colleagues told us about getting the cube free of charge until the issue is fixed and they were responding as if they belong to a different company, with a different policy, repeating that they don't provide cubes temporarily for technical issues! I even asked them if they can just call their colleagues in the support team to confirm what they told me, but apparently basic communication within A1 is not possible ... !

Unhelpful. Refused to register a sim-card from yesss - a virtual operator working on their network - even though it says so clearly everywhere and on the poster in this very shop that they should be able to do it. Offered a more expensive A1 contract instead.
