Purchased 2 pairs of Salomon hiking boots about 1 1/2 years ago, they both started ripping after about 10 months. Took the shoes back to the store after 1 year of purchase. The store clerk had to get "more knowledgeable" associate to ask about the warranty claim. This "know it all" clerk immediately said Salomon will not accept this warranty claim and they will not even try to take it. Lucky for him it was after the 1 year period, because within 1 year, they have to take it and have professional check, so I would have stuffed it up his... I was of course mad that they refused and would never buy another Salomon product and buy anything for XXL Sports. But I tough I will try one more time and write Salomon through their website. They actually have warranty claims forms on their website you can submit. Within about a week, they have accepted my claim and gave me a credit to purchase another pair of shoes from their website. All with just looking at the pictures of shoes and receipts. Didn't need to even send the shoes to them. So to this know it all clerk, you are making bad name for XXL Sports (which I will never buy from again) and Salomon (which I will buy from again since I know they back their products).
