В центре гранитной чаши с фонтаном находится основание с надписью «Памяти Виктора Тильгнера, построенного муниципалитетом Вены в 1902 году» . На этой основе находится бронзовая скульптура с двумя Путти, которые держат рыбу и гуся. На краю бассейна фонтана есть четыре бронзовые скульптуры, изображающие лягушек, извергающих воду.
The Tilgner Fountain was built in 1902 in memory of the sculptor Victor Tilgner. In the center of the granite bowl with a fountain there is a base with the inscription “In memory of Victor Tilgner, built by the municipality of Vienna in 1902”. On this basis is a bronze sculpture with two Putti that hold a fish and a goose. At the edge of the fountain pool there are four bronze sculptures depicting frogs spewing water.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Tilgner Fountain (Frog Fountain) is located at the small Ressel park at Karlsplatz in Vienna. This fountain is based upon an original from the estate of Austrian sculptor Viktor Tilgner and was erected in 1902.
Here you find an elegantly designed bronze of two cherubs holding a fish and goose from which water spouts into a granite basin below. There are bronze frogs placed around the rim of the basin sections, providing additional playfulness and character to the monument.
In the end, theTilgner Fountain is an interesting monument to see when spending time around Karlsplatz - one that children may even take a liking for. Give it a few minutes to view to enjoy while sightseeing in this area of Vienna.
