Die konkave Mosaikwand ist nach dem Bild „Epiphanie“ des französischen Malers Philipp Lejeune gestaltet und zeigt die drei Weisen aus dem Orient, die inmitten eines Völkergewirrs zum Christuskind finden. In diesem Band wird die künstlerische Dimension und Entstehungsgeschichte dieses einzigartigen sakralen Monuments beschrieben. Zugleich werden umfangreiche Texte zum Thema „Gewissens- und Religionsfreiheit“ veröffentlicht: Neben dem Wortlaut von „Dignitatis Humanae“ des 2. Vatikanischen Konzils sind Beiträge bedeutender Theologen und Philosophen, Päpste und Bischöfe gesammelt, die die nachkonziliare Lehre der Kirche erklären, diskutieren oder verteidigen.
