★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Big restaurant near a famous church. This is also a pilgrimage place for catholics, so there is usually a crowd around. Food is good but there are a few dishes in the menu. There is a nice garden and all is clean.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This restaurant is quite popular and therefore crowded. But it is not impossible to find a table. The sitting area outdoors is fantastic, since you can see the Closter and surroundings, and even though a parking lot is right there, it is still more or less quiet place and has an atmosphere of a historical backyard. A service is somehow messy, but the food is very good and very balanced in seasoning and salt, which is, to my view, quite rare for restaurants with traditional austrian cuisine. Very good coffee.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This restaurant by the Heiligenkreuz monastery is very nice indeed. It's big so no worries about getting seats, but I think it's crowded usually. It's raining when I was there so there weren't so many people. The gasthof was still quite full.
The food was great, portion is quite big. I ordered wild boar escalope and it was really good. Meat was tender, it was served with a big pile of steamed veggie and these little fried mash potato. Yummmz!
Price was reasonable.
