Kahlenberg should be a must-attend event for every visitor to Vienna. The beautiful view from the terrace escapes for the sometimes tedious journey.
G	Gabriele Schmidt on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Schon seit einiger Zeit steht der Sockel für das Denkmal an Sobieski, der 1683 mit dem polnischen Herr die Wiener bei der Schlacht am Kahlenberg gegen die Osmanen unterstütze, hier. Geplant war ursprünglich ein größeres Denkmal als Erinnerung an den König der Polen. Aber dem nach dem geplanten Entwurf fertig gestellten Denkmal wurde nun von Wiener Seite eine Absage erteilt. Es heißt, man würde damit die in Wien lebenden Türken verletzen... Obwohl zuvor bereits fest vereinbart zwischen Wien und Polen, wird dieser Sockel wohl noch eine Weile leer bleiben bis ein neuer Entwurf beschlossen und gebaut wurde. In der Zwischenzeit kann man in drei Sprachen eingraviert auf dem Sockel dennoch etwas über die Schlacht am Kahlenberg und die Rolle von Sobieski erfahren. Neben diesem Denkmal - das wohl gerade selbst Geschichte schreibt - kann man auf dem Kahlenberg noch einige weitere Sehenswürdigkeiten erkunden, die an besagte Schlacht erinnern. Es lohnt sich also allemal, auf den Kahlenberg und auch zum Sobieski-Sockel zu kommen! Pomnik może być dla nich kontrowersyjny, jako,że nasz król jakby galopuje na koniu w ataku na Turków. Ale czyż nie błagali o pomoc? Za 100 lat wykorzystali swoją potęgę aby nas rozebrać? I pytanie retoryczne.Może lepiej było nie zrywać sojuszu z Turcją ?Jak wiemy oni nigdy nie uznali rozbiorów Polski. For Poles, it is humiliating that there is no consent of the local authorities to erect a monument on this pedestal. The monument may be controversial for them, as our king seems to be galloping on a horse in an attack on the Turks. But didn't they beg for help? In 100 years, they used their power to undress us? And a rhetorical question. Maybe it would be better not to break the alliance with Turkey? As we know, they have never recognized the partition of Poland.
P	Peter Buß on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Es ist am Kahlenberg ja ganz nett, aber scheinbar versucht man den Besuchern einzureden, der Entsatz von Wien während der Türkenbelagerung 1683 sei von hier aus geschehen - stimmt nicht der kam vom Leopoldsberg, aber diese Anlage lässt man leider verkommen. Wahrheit sollte Wahrheit bleiben - man macht auch sein Geschäft wenn man die Geschichte nicht verfälscht. It is very nice on the Kahlenberg, but apparently one tries to persuade the visitors, the relieving of Vienna during the Turkish siege 1683 happened from here - is not true that came from the Leopoldsberg, but this plant can unfortunately degenerate. Truth should remain truth - you also do your business if you do not falsify the story.

The view was wonderful. You could see all Vienna from the top. A lot of people had been around for a walk or jogging . Very clean atmosphere.
