City Guard of Vienna Der Rathausmann (Kopie 1985) In 1882, the Vienna City Guard was placed on the top of the newly built Vienna City Hall Tower. Since then, it has stood at the top of the city and endured the scorching heat and cold for 100 years. In 1985, the City Guard took a break for the first time. When it was renewed and loaded up by a helicopter, thousands of Viennese citizens watched the scene. The city guard is carefully designed, cast and welded by the court machine Nayler, referring to the style of the knight's armor in the Emperor Maximilian's Weapon Hall. After the completion of the Vienna Government Building, the mechanic dedicated his work to the city government and the people of Vienna free of charge. The city guard of Vienna is 3,4 meters tall. In 1986, a life-size guardian model was erected in the Plaza of the City Hall for people to watch. Archduke of Austria, Emperor Maximilian of Mexico, Erzherzog Maximilian 1833-1867 Maximilian was the second brother of Emperor Franz Joseph and the most capable and talented of the Emperor Brothers. He received rigorous military education since his childhood, served in the Austrian army, and also served as governor of the Austrian colony. He has a prominent personality and a fanatical pursuit of honor and power. He is known as the third Napoleon. In 1863 Maximilian gave up the power of the Archduke of Austria and accepted the coronation of the Emperor of Mexico. When he set foot on the land of South America, he realized that what awaited him was not enthusiastic cheers but angry shouts. He was sentenced to death after losing the fight against the Mexican president. The execution was executed five years later, when Maximilian was only 35 years old. Maximilian’s body was transported back to the country for a grand funeral. His statue was built in the 13th district church square in 1871. The Grand Duke often lived in villas in the area before his death. He was optimistic and friendly by nature, and many residents donated money to his statue.

Beautiful metal statue, indicatively it should be bronze, located in the green park in front of the town hall, an exact copy of the one located at the top of this building and representing one of the symbols of Vienna. The bill is really wonderful, as is the preservation. Definitely a fabulous work to see during a stay in Vienna.
