★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Die Vorstadt Mülln war seit ihrer Entstehung im 8. Jahrhundert von Mühlen geprägt, die vom Müllner Arm des Almkanales, vor der Errichtung des Stiftsarmes als Riedenburgerbach bekannt, betrieben worden waren. Den Almkanal begleitend war schon im Spätmittelalter hier ein Stadttor bekannt. Die Wehrmauer der Vorstadt führte bogenförmig zum nahe gelegenen Laufener Tor weiter. Leider ist das einstige Aussehen dieses wichtigen, zur Salzach hinunterführenden, das heutige Salzachgässchen zur Salzach hin schützende Tores sehr wenig bekannt.
 The suburb of Mülln has been characterized by mills since its formation in the 8th century, which had been operated by the Müllner arm of the Almkanales, known as the Riedenburgerbach before the monastery arm was built. Accompanying the Almkanal, a city gate was already known here in the late Middle Ages. The defensive wall of the suburb continued in an arch to the nearby Laufener Tor. Unfortunately, the former appearance of this important gate that leads down to the Salzach and protects today's Salzachgässchen towards the Salzach is very little known.
