★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the most lovely institutions in Vienna, the Salettl is the cosiest place in the world for an early morning breakfast or a late coffee in good company. There is not much space, so it's the ideal place for a romantic evening, for a friendly chat or for a splendid summer morning. Coffee and hot chocolate are excellent; they are improving their tea, but it is still not completely there. Food is delicious, especially the sweet dishes. Service is kind and helpful. I have been a fan since the 80's and still love it like on the first day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Salettl restaurant is located in a very green and peaceful area within the Döbling district of Vienna. Probably 95%+ is local visitors, and atmosphere is accordingly very traditional Austrian. Waiters are polite and service is quick and high quality...so are the dishes. The special setup allows the place to have here both ideal for breakfast or late evening dinner/drinks. Child and dog friendly external garden area. Exceptional place, highly recommended.
