Avoid ! This place is a real insult to anyone who is really working for peace in the world. There is nothing to see here, hardly a museum, just one small room with a few paintings by some local artist on sale and an old American biddy sitting inside preying on curious tourists by trying to get them to buy cheap junk (badges and t-shirts) as they try to escape.... be warned !!! They have also put posters of so-called 'peace heroes' on windows of local businesses nearby. If I lived here I wouldn't let them anywhere near. I wonder whether it is even legal, defacing an otherwise attractive hinterland of little streets. So avoid this place. Unless you want to go and poke fun, there are much better places nearby to visit, God knows who is paying for this... if I was an Austrian taxpayer I wouldn't be happy...

One learns so much from walking through the quiet alleys where the Windows for Peace are located. The concept of an "always open" street museum was new to me before discovering the Peace Museum Vienna. So was the concept of "peace consciousness", which the museum actively promotes.

A bunch of windows with people’s faces on them. All did something for peace. I tried to find some of the people I knew won the peace noble prize on the windows, but I couldn’t. Of course there are pictures of Gandi, Malala Yousafzai and a lot of other famous people! Of course the street and the green environment are fantastic to watch.
