★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Eduard Nittner sa narodil 5. februára 1885 v obci Görz a zomrel 17. februára 1913. Bol rakúskym dôstojníkom letectva a letecký priekopník, ktorý sa preslávil dňa 3.mája 1912, keď ako prvý preletel z Wiener Neustadt do Grazu cez obávaný Semmering. Na jeho počesť bol na vrchole Semmeringu postavený pamätník Nittner, ktorý pripomína jeho slávu, majstrovstvo a technickú zručnosť. Od roku 1967 je časť letiska Graz Thalerhof, ktorú používajú rakúske ozbrojené sily nazývaná letecká základňa Nittner.
 Eduard Nittner was born on February 5, 1885 in the village of Görz and died on February 17, 1913. He was an Austrian air force officer and air pioneer, who became famous on May 3, 1912, when he was the first to fly from Wiener Neustadt to Graz via the dreaded Semmering. In his honor, a monument to Nittner was erected on top of the Semmering, commemorating his fame, mastery and technical skill. Since 1967, the part of Graz Thalerhof Airport used by the Austrian Armed Forces has been called Nittner Air Force Base.
