Здание построено по образцу итальянского Возрождения. Верхний этаж дворца украшен 2,5-метровыми статуями графа Никласа Сальма, Эрнста Рюдигера фон Штаремберга, Эрнста Гидеона Лаудона, Йозефа Зонненфельса, Иоганна Бернхарда Фишера фон Эрлаха и принца Евгения Савойского.
Palace of Archduke Ludwig Victor was built in 1863-1866 by the architect Heinrich von Ferstel. After the decision to create a representative square for the installation of a monument to Prince Schwarzenberg, the palace became the first building in the new square.
The building is modeled on the Italian Renaissance. The upper floor of the palace is decorated with 2.5-meter statues of Count Nicklas Salm, Ernst Rüdiger von Staremberg, Ernst Gideon Laudon, Joseph Sonnenfels, Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach and Prince Eugene of Savoy.
