OEKOTEL Salzburg

I loved this place. Definitely recommend staying here if you find yourself in Salzburg. Everything was perfect: 1. The rooms were clean and tidy, and I couldn't find anything dirty. 2. The bathrooms were clean, had a smart design and were well equipped. 2. There was hot water 24/7. 3. The LED TV was working. 4. The lift worked during the whole time I was there. 5. The classic breakfast (Frühstuck) was tasty, well organized and available every single day, included in the room price. 6. The ladies at the reception were polite, helpful and they knew English. 7. At no point anybody bothered us, and the rooms were sound-proof enough that I didn't have any problem sleeping. 8. The small dark-haired cleaning lady (3rd floor) was very sweet and cooperative. She helped and cleaned whatever and whenever we asked her to and was really dedicated to her work. The only thing I think can be improved upon is the shower. If you turn the water handle more than half way up, so much water will flow that the design of the floor won't be able to direct all of it to the sewer, causing it to accumulate and spill out towards the toilet and then to the door. I don't know if it can flow out of the bath because I turned the water flow to a minimum after I saw it reaching the sink. All in all, probably the best fair priced hotel I've stayed at in Europe. It's services, quality and standards are something only germans and austrians can constantly pull off. If I come back to Salzburg, I'll know this place is great.

The hotel is about 10 car minutes from downtown Salzburg, and offers free parking near the building and in the back (can be crowded, though). The room was simple, but clean and spacious. The shower was fight next to the sink, and not separated by a curtain. The cable TV had some English news channels, and WLAN was slow, but ok for emails and browsing. The breakfast buffet was included in the room price. The selection was basic and simple, but definitely not terrible. There is no AC, and we opened the window over night. Unfortunately, our room faced the parking lots of the hotel (right along the building), and cigarette smoke, starting cars, and chatting guests woke us up very early in the morning. After closing the window, the problem was solved. In summary, the hotel is definitely ok for spending 1-2 nights with a dense touristy program and little downtime spent at the location itself.

Good price, decent breakfast, too soft bed for my liking, weak in terms of extras, such as shampoo, soap, etc. Clean rooms, enough parking space, but not perfectly clean toilet. All in all, happy with the value for money, only small things to work on more. Would come back.

Very good place to stay in transit. Great location for tourists who want to explore salsburg city without spending a fortune on accommodation. Rather poor breakfast but you will eat a roll with cheese and will be OK. Remember the price is really affordable so don't expect wonders of 5 star hotel.

Positive: The hotel was very clean, staff were very friendly, and if you don't mind taking the bus, not too far out of town. Negatives: the breakfast buffet was extremely meager, the room was very loud because of the bathroom fan not turning off in the adjacent, and the bathroom shower continually flooded because of poor design

Never choose this place. We had a reservation for 23rd of july and we told them we will be checking in late, they told us they left the key and they provided us a pin code to obtain it. However when we arrived to the hotel at 11:30pm the pin code did not work and we had nobody to speak to. So we called booking to cancel our reservation and we needed to find a new hotel at 2 am. Even though we called them 15 times and send several emails, they have not replied any of them. NEVER CHOOSE THIS PLACE.
