★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hut was really okay and the staff friendly, but it is really unfair to sell bottled drinking water to hikers at 3€ per 1.5 L when there is no other refilling options. I have never experienced that in any other hut.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The good bit first. The hut is in a fantastic location with stunning views in all directions. The bedrooms are lovely. The breakfast was great.
Unfortunately there is no drinking water and the hut exploits this by charging excessive amounts for bottled water. €16 for four classes of water! They could offer boiled water or have a water filter system or pump it up from a spring lower down but instead they use vast amounts of plastic bottles and charge exploitative amounts.
The evening meal was small, unpleasant and expensive. Perhaps we had been spoiled by the Solsteinhaus and Maderberger Hütten but the meal was really grim.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place, the view is simply inexplicable. The food tastes great, which is only made better because the walk here is hard and tiring. Narrow paths, if any, with mountain on one side and cliff straight down on the other. Path can sometimes be gone in places because of falling rocks and debris rolling down.
But once you get there, the view is amazing and the food and drinks taste all the better.
If you're looking for a nice hike with warm food and cold drinks in the middle, I do indeed recommend it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is amazing. I can't say enough good things. My husband and I visited at the end of July. The view is truly one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. The family who owns it are the nicest people, especially the mom/grandma. I wanted to take her home with us!! The vegetarian lentil soup is the best meal I've had in Austria, and I've had a lot of good meals here. The memory of our visit here will be among my favorites.
