★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Pferdeschwemme is one of the two preserved horse "baths" in Salzburg's old town. In the middle of the fountain is a large sculpture of a prancing horse. Just behind the fountain is half a dozen horse themed murals. All of this is at the base of Mönchsberg cliff walls as a spectacularly backdrop.
