★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Definitely older JUFA than those we have visited before (Veitsch, Neutal, Hungary). Poor wi-fi, not enough light in restaurant, broken reading lights in the room. Staff was friendly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Family friendly, relaxed atmosphere, basic rooms. I was only here for half a day for a friend's celebration, so I didn't have time to try many of their offerings like the wellness area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My experience here was lower than poor. There must be a standard hygiene level, customer service, gastronomy and maintenance for a three star hotel, and this was not even close to it.
- plenty of foreign customers and none of the staff speaks english.
- not enough staff on duty to actually provide a decent customer service.
- I will have to insist on this one particular topic, just because in my 20 years experience in gastronomy I have never seen anything like this. The food was not edible. The presentation was disgraceful. The flavour was absolutely awful. Dinner as well as breakfast. Who on earth hired that "Person" to cook? I would not call him a Chef. The duck roast looked black, the Goulash was sandy, every dish warm or cold was swimming in oil or some sort of unknown juices. The parisien cauliflower was juicy on the inside, the Bacon for breakfast was soaked in oil and soft as wet socks. The beef Soup was extremely salty. No labels on what's what. Let the pictures explain.
- we checked into our room to find difficulties unlocking the door, breadcrumbs in the mini kitchen we've had inside our room, refrigerator had mold inside and it stank. Countertop dirty, floors dirty no glasses on the table, lights broken, heat off over night and on during the day. Swimming pool with dirty water and most probably a higher level of chlorine than allowed. By the sauna were to unlabeled bottles with sauna oil.
- the only person here, who worked like a bee, different tasks in the same time, running from the reception to the dining room, taking orders, delivering them, clearing tables as wellvery attentive and polite, was Kerstin, assistant manager. The person who was moving his body weight from one leg to another was Tamas, who occasionally brought a hot plate from the kitchen or a dirty plate inside the kitchen. What was his job description saying? Stand around? No common sense, no team playing.... An elderly women holding clean plates close to her chest came out of the kitchen dressed as a grandma. None was wearing anything even remotely connected to a uniform.
Someone has to take a look at what's going on over there. The location is spectacular, it's such a pity.
Dear Mr. Legat
Thank you for your answer. It took you two weeks to react to a negative review, in a confrontational manner. Your approach is surprisingly unprofessional to Quote "Dear Mrs. Vlahos thank you for your review in which you mention a lot of things not corresponding to the fact”. I am sorry but, aren’t the pictures enough “evidence” for you? Before you so smoothly try to deny my negative review you must also know that I was there with my husband and son, they saw the same thing. I was accommodated by JUFA more than ones, in Austria, but never so poorly. My negative review was a feedback and not an attack. To take your reply point by point, it goes like this: You might speak English, but the staff at the Hotel didn’t. This is actually the reality. The evening buffet you offer, various salads, antipasti, soups and so on, are missing presentation, taste and most of all quality. Breakfast, bacon should be fried, not boiled in its own juice (I could send you a picture of how fried bacon should look like if you want). I took time to read the “so many feedbacks” about JUFA in Mariazell, and I would like to advice you that, you should read them too. All your negative Feedbacks were answered as “irrelevant for a review because…” or to repeat myself “in a confrontational manner”. These tactics are unprofessional. I am not looking to gain additional offers or services, I was simply stating the negative facts which you should of politely acknowledge, follow-up and try to solve the issue, not justify it. Could you justify the mold in the Fridge as well please?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly staff, great food, good facilities. The only bad thing is that one can't use HDMI inputs on TV. Would be nice if this is possible so that kids could watch YouTube via Chromecast on big screen (allegedly it's like that in every JUFA hotel)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hotel is situated in a lovely location slightly away from town. The services are good and hotel is equipped with a sauna and swimming pool along with a play area that features a pool table, an air hockey table and a foosball table. Their is a small area inside for infants and outside a playground for kids. All in all, it is quite a complete package for complete relaxation. It is also possible to plan short and long hikes on the picturesque hills of Mariazell.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Perfect family holiday location. Need a car to get about as it's located on the outskirts of Mariazell itself. Great buffet breakfast and dinner to suit both the adults and children. Facilities perfect for keeping our children 11 and 13 entertained with table tennis room and swimming pool whilst in the hotel. Service was friendly and the rooms were clean.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A modern alpine hotel with great amenities for families. The staff are friendly, helpful and all speak at least two or three languages which is great if you’re visiting from abroad. The breakfast and dinner buffets are good and have something for everyone. The hotel is a little way outside Mariaizell, but not inconveniently far away like some others. Great as a base for exploring Mariazelland.
Only little niggles, as others have mentioned before, is that the mattresses are really rock solid and can be uncomfortable after a hard day hiking or skiing.
