Hotel Magnus Klause

On the weekend before the lockdown, we spent 3 days here with my husband on his birthday. We booked the accommodation based on reviews, and it was positive that both the owner and the staff speak Hungarian. The hotel is located on Mariazell’s main square, all within a few minutes ’walk. Upon arrival at the hotel we had a pleasant welcome, the lady of the receptionist and the owner welcomed us very kindly. The hotel has its own car park, located behind the building. We booked a room with a 20 sqm city / mountain view, then occupying the room to our surprise, the honeymoon room welcomed us with a huge bathroom, corner bath and double bed. The view from this room was magnificent. The hotel is housed in a listed building, which is highlighted by the crackling parquet floors, period furniture and cast iron radiators. The heating in the room can be adjusted as required, the double bed has a soft pillow and a very soft mattress, we slept very well on it. At dawn, accompanied by the descending fog, there was a beautiful view of the city and the mountains. Breakfast is available on request, with scrambled eggs, 5 pieces cut in half, 4 types of cheese, soft-boiled eggs, tea butter, cream cheese, liver cream, a variety of baked goods, nutella, muesli, yoghurt, fresh vegetables, and fruit, coffee and juices. On the occasion of my birthday, I received a bottle of champagne and a small book about Mariazell as a gift from the hotel. Overall, we were very pleased with everything. The room and the whole hotel are very clean. The staff is infinitely kind and attentive. We have never had such a positive experience anywhere. I also recommend the hotel to friends. We would love to come back at any time.

Basic hotel in the 90s look in a very central location. The room was clean and big, but the bathroom tiny. The water in the shower was never really hot. The staff is friendly and the breakfast which we took at 8 euro charge to absolutely ok. Conclusion: If you want to stay relatively cheap and in the center of Mariazell (can dispense with any luxury) makes this little wrong.
