★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The owner was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very fresh and there was plenty of choice. However the bed was very uncomfortable but other than that I was very happy with our stay. The view from the balcony was beautiful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hotel is fine if you just want a room and food. But the rooms are, although clean, a bit dodgy (we had spider webs all over the curtains and a leaking bath), the food is good! (Gluten-free also very good! And staff is friendly, but can be a bit harsh. Also they were doing to much at once so they forgot things. The boss wants to control everything but forgot gluten-free bread for 2 days (even though I rang and emailed him). Bar is very expensive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Let’s start with the (mostly) positives:
Hotel Mödlinger is a basic but well-equipped hotel. The rooms – which are typically Austrian twins with an additional single bed – are perhaps a little dated but not untidy, and they are comfortable enough for 2 adults. Many rooms have a third single bed that would make them ideal for a small family, but 3 adults sharing might be a squeeze.
The dining room is pleasant and has a cosy vibe when busy.
The hotel lobby is also nice and has a bar area. As other reviewers have mentioned, the bar itself was frequently unstaffed during our visit (as was the hotel generally) which meant having to chase down a member of staff to serve drinks if you wanted to sit in this area after dinner.
Although the hotel is located some way from the lifts, the ski bus leaves from the front door, making it easy to get out in the mornings. Be aware though that the last bus back from the lifts to the hotel leaves at 16:35 if you want to avoid the c.15 min walk back.
The owner does not permit any skis or boots in the hotel, but the ski-locker is very secure and conveniently very located just outside the front door. A couple of people commented that the ski locker wasn’t adequately heated after finding their boots damp in the morning.
Now to the negative:
If you’re a vegetarian or you just enjoy good food on your ski hols – then this isn’t the place for you. The food was all very ‘school dinners’ and the vegetarian ‘options’ were either an (1) omelette or, (2) the same as the main course without the meat. In fact, although I quite liked the hotel, the quality of the food alone would stop me going back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I loved my stay at Hotel Moedlinger. I felt the warmth of a family-run business and was unsuprised to learn that it has been in the family for generations. The place is bursting with character and feels timelessly Austrian. I spent cosy afternoons playing pool and backgammon in the lobby. The breakfasts were sumptuous with excellent service. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower hot and powerful. What more could you want!
I shall certainly return to such a homely, comfortable and characterful establishment. Thank you dearest Moedlingers!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had an incredible stay at hotel Mödlinger, it really feels comfortable and homey. The food served at breakfast by the wonderful hosts is delicious and is enough to keep you going for your planned activities. I would highly recommend staying at the hotel to anyone visiting Söll, as it’s close enough to the pedestrianised high street, a short walk away from some amazing picnic spots, and is not too far from the skii slopes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hotel was extremely clean- could not fault it at all.
Had a lovely homely feel- breakfast was nice- various choices of breads, rolls- scrambled or boiled eggs- lots of seeds, nuts, yogurts. As a vegetarian would have been nice to have a bowl of fruit included- there were daily apples or pears. Staff were very attentive and friendly.
The bedroom was warm- beds very comfortable with nice hot showers or baths- just what you needed after a hard day on the slopes.
Sauna was good too.
Ski bus right outside hotel- all equipment kept in a secure garage outside as no ski boots allowed in hotel.
There was plenty of space in the lobby to sit and play games- chess- pool and just relax.
The only downside was that the bar was not open but I do think if you wanted a drink you could just ask.
If you missed the ski bus- the walk to the gondola was less than 15 mins.
We stayed here as a group of 11 people and had a wonderful time- would definitely stay here again.
The skiing was awesome-
All credit to the staff of this hotel for the cleanliness and homely feel. We will definitely be back again ?
