Hotel Bräurup Mittersill

Fishing shop and guides - are excellent. Fishing and water levels can be very variable. Gear storage and drying facilities very good. Liked the fly tying table. For context below - I am an ex-hotel manager (3 star) and 16 years in hospitality. Hotel - good value and flexible with bookings. I expect 4 star to have Tea and Coffee facilities in every room and this is not so here so very disappointing for me. I now carry my own kettle in Austria and bring decent coffee with me. Some of the room staff are pretty grumpy. Restaurant. VERY SLOW!!! Food is generally average at best. coffee from the macine is pretty awful but a good tea selection. For the half board buffet you need to be down early to get the full choice and after 0830 and 2000 the choice of whats left is pretty limited. After my first day packed lunch from the hotel I resorted to buying it from Hofer the other 5 days because it was so dry boring and unimaginative. Better to let guests make their own - as at a lot of other 4 star hotels. Warm Almdudler (sugared, coloured, carbonated water is NOT good for a packed lunch. The first 3 nights I waited over 1 hour for a single plate of main course food. Improved slightly when I mentioned it AND asked for the main course upon sitting down. It still took 30-40 minutes though. I'm usually a good tipper if its deserved, but I couldn't justify more than €40 for my 6 night stay.

Excellent food and beautiful place

We were waiting at least 10 minutes and did not receive any attantion or menu... so we left (waitress was there but like we were invisible).

Few things on way I only gave 1 star: - they don't to take the COVID regulation serious. - persons that served us was very rushed which did make a relaxed place. - food was ok but not great though did enjoy their owned brewed beer. - there were a lot a flies around the table not sure they can do.anything about it but is was very annoying.

Friendly, quick and excellent food.

Just awesome, friendly service. Tasty food. Kaspressknödelsuppe was nice. Salads not overdone with dressing, just perfect. Chair for your little one available without any words. Custom made drink with ?. Playground area for smaller kids, where a bigger kid broke the plastic seat right in front of my eyes :)
