Hotel Austria Edinger KG

Hotel Austria is a Family owned well run place. The bedrooms are functional , warm and the shower has a good supply of hot water. We were staying via an Inghams ski holiday package, we got a buffet breakfast and a 4 course evening meal included. All drinks with the evening meal cost extra including water. The beer was reasonably priced (don't quote me on this but per Ml I think beer was cheaper than the bottled water ?) The hotel had a nice small swimming pool, ski lockers, a very good ski hire shop, the staff in the hire shop were great, I got my snowboard serviced while I was there and they did a fantastic job. There was also a winter sport shop (clothing, ski gear and Austrian tourist trinkets) it was a nice shop but I felt the pricing was at a premium. All in all, Hotel Austria was a good base for our winter holiday week in the Ski Jewel area.

We arrived at a reasonable time in the early afternoon and decided to have coffee and cake. We received a large piece cheesecake however inside it had a large piece of mould. We also found the hotel to be very cold at the start of our break and discovered a large hole in the wall behind a radiator cover where there must have been a radiator at some point and was now the source of a draft. We spoke to the hotel who told us it was computer controlled heating which was only controlled centrally they then came to the room with an electronic thermometer and it showed 21 degrees which should be warm but the rooms felt very cold compared to the corridor or reception. The receptionist seemed quite disinterested in helping people, quite often requiring us to ring a bell for attention when she could see us from where she was sat. Lastly the meal times seemed very chaotic. If you wanted a hot drink with breakfast they would only bring you sufficient for a single cup despite us being told you could have as much as you like subsequent cups took so long to arrive that you were ready to leave by the time it arrived. Evening meals were served over 4 courses and the staff would switch behaviour between leaving you with empty dishes until being asked to take them or hovering and taking them practically as you put you cutlery down. Once the plates were taken we found ourselves regularly having to ask for the next course having waited so long we believed that we'd been forgotten. As we were leaving at the end of our break. We did speak to somebody that had been before and they said that they had been previously and the hotel had gone down hill. On the plus side its really close to the lifts and the ski school.

Food excellent and good choice. Kids menu available. Perfect location for ski school and bus to other mountains. Soft drinks expensive and you can't have table water. Good facilities at hotel. All in all great holiday for families and friends.

This was my first week-long ski holiday and I was quite nervous as I had seen some bad reviews, but from the moment we arrived the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had arrived quite late as our transport had been delayed and had a lovely check-in experience and were able to take our luggage to the room before going down and having a lovely meal. The food was delicious (it is customary to pay for your drinks at most in-hotel restaurants in Niederau so we knew about that). The restaurant was clean and had a lovely cosy atmosphere as well as very pleasant waiters and waitresses. Yes, the rooms were a little warm, but after skiing in the cold, we were quite happy for the warmth. When it got too much we were able to open a window to cool down and there wasn't too much noise outside. The room itself was comfortable and the shower room was clean, modern and had enough space to put our toiletries. It was nice being able to go to breakfast and dinner in a shirt and jeans and then don our ski attire when leaving the hotel. There was an easy to access boot room (kept warm so everything was nice and dry when you wanted to go back out) and from there straight through to the ski hire shop. There were lockers available to house our skis and then a very short walk right to the gondola and nursery slopes. Honestly cannot say how nice it was to have such a short walk to the slopes whilst wearing and carrying all our gear. The buses were practically at the front-door too. All in all, was a wonderful holiday made especially so by the fantastic staff (the pool and infrared room helped too). Definitely will be going back to this hotel next time we are in Niederau.

Excellent hotel.Service the best and hotel is very close to gondola ski lifts.

Very good food. Waiter was difficult to understand sometimes, as he speaks in local dialect, but the service was very good. If you go here on a thursdayevening during summer, you have a nice view and sound from the Tiroler party further down the street.

Good location next to the gondola and bus stop. Friendly staff and clean spacious rooms. My only fault would be the quality of the food on some of the nights.

Great location, super close to the gondala and bus stop outside for bus to Auffach. Waiting staff in the dining room were very helpful and able to accommodate my partner's dietary requirements, going above and beyond. Breakfast was plentiful and dinner was good. Swimming pool was great. We found the rooms to be comfy, clean and with a great view! It would have been great if there was a bit more information in the rooms about the hotel and village.
