★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After a mentally taxing drive, I'm not used to Austrian tracks, and a fair bit of uphill we arrive at Giglachseehutte. What a find! Friendly hosts, fantastic coffee and a dessert to die for. The only English folks around but made to feel at home. The view from the hutte are extraordinary, of the lakes and the mountains around and beyond. Just negotiating the track down to civilisation to worry about now ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I enjoyed a gourmet Holzhackerpfanndl and the finest Topfenstrudel ever (with a flower!). Did not have enough cash on me, but the host offered to accept a bank transfer as payment! I'm glad I stopped there after hiking though amazing landscapes all day. ?
