Vorab - Es war ein wunderbarer Abend und ein Genuss auf höchstem Niveau. Das Restaurant selbst verfügt über lediglich ca. 20 Plätze (reservieren unbedingt empfehlenswert) und ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Man sitzt leicht erhöht auf bequemen Stühlen. Wir waren im Rahmen eines Kurzaufenthaltes in Pertisau in einem anderen Hotel untergebracht und hatten dort auf das Abendessen verzichtet um unsere Chance zu nutzen. Der Empfang durch das Servicepersonal war sehr freundlich und auch der Chef hatte gleich zu Beginn einen Moment Zeit um uns willkommen zu heissen. Nachdem wir unseren Aperitif geordert und bekommen hatten wurden uns auf einer Platte die verschiedenen Fleisch- und Fischsorten präsentiert inkl. der Tagesspezialitäten welche nicht auf der Karte standen. Sehr gut. Die Vorspeise aus 3 Variationen (Tartar, Sashimi und kurz gebratenen Filet) Gelbflossenthunfisch waren Excellent. Liebevoll angerichtet fast zu schade zum essen. Als Hauptgericht hatte meine Frau ein Rinderfilet und ich das Rib-Eye. Perfekter Garpunkt, variantenreiche und gut gemachte Beilagen. Selten hatten wir so ein gutes Stück Fleisch. Auch hier wieder ein kurzer Besuch vom Chef um sich zu vergewissern das alles passt. Als Nachspeise dann zum einen die mit Nougat gefüllten Topfenknödel und zum anderen die geeiste Marzipan-Mascarpone-Lasagne. Nicht zu süß, wunderbar ausgewogen und beides auf einem Beerenspiegel präsentiert. In dieses hervorragende Gesamtbild fügen sich auch die Preise für den Wein (kleine aber feine Karte) und für das Essen ein. Angesichts der Grundzutaten und des gebotenen Aufwandes mehr als gerechtfertigt. Fazit: Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder und dürfen an das ganze Team ein großes Lob aussprechen. Hier wird Gastronomie noch abseits des Mainstream gelebt. Im positivsten Sinne bodenständig aber hochklassig ohne sich in zu viel Drumherum zu verlieren Parkplätze vorhanden, Rampe für Rollstuhlfahrer vorhanden, im Restaurant schwellenlos
In advance - It was a wonderful evening and a pleasure at the highest level. The restaurant itself has only about 20 seats (definitely recommendable) and is very comfortably furnished. You sit slightly elevated on comfortable chairs. We stayed in a short stay in Pertisau in another hotel and had waived dinner there to take our chance. The reception by the service staff was very friendly and the boss had right at the beginning a moment to welcome us. After we had ordered our aperitif and received us on a plate the different types of meat and fish were presented including the daily specials which were not on the menu. Very well. The appetizer of 3 variations (tartare, sashimi and short fried filet) yellowfin tuna were excellent. Lovingly prepared almost too good to eat. As a main course, my wife had a beef fillet and I had the rib-eye. Perfect Garpunkt, varied and well made side dishes. Rarely have we had such a good piece of meat. Again, a short visit from the boss to make sure that everything fits. As a dessert then on the one hand filled with nougat curd cheese dumplings and on the other hand the iced marzipan mascarpone lasagna. Not too sweet, wonderfully balanced and presented on a berry table. In this outstanding overall picture, the prices for the wine (small but fine card) and for the food. Given the basic ingredients and the effort required more than justified. Conclusion: We are happy to come back and express our appreciation to the whole team. Here, gastronomy is still lived off the mainstream. In the most positive sense down to earth but high class without losing in too much trappings Parking available, ramp for wheelchair users available, in the restaurant without a threshold

Asiatisch inspiriert mit guten Produkten Wir wollten nach den ganzen österreichischen Spezialitäten in Pertisau mal wieder etwas anspruchsvoller essen und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Die Essbar bietet schmackhaftes Essen auf gutem Niveau. Die Kombination aus heimischen und internationalen Zutaten ist sehr lecker. Die Getränkeauswahl ist ebenfalls in Ordnung. Lediglich der Service und die Abläufe konnten nicht überzeugen. Obwohl nur ca. 20 Gäste in den Raum passen und mindestens 5 Service-Mitarbeiter anwesend waren, waren die Wartezeiten relativ lang bzw. wurde immer wieder etwas vergessen und anscheinend häufig unnütze Wege zurückgelegt. Dies führt in dem relativ kleinen Gastraum zu einer recht unruhigen Atmosphäre.
Asian inspired with good products After all the Austrian specialties in Pertisau, we wanted to eat something more sophisticated again and were not disappointed. The bar offers tasty food at a good level. The combination of local and international ingredients is very tasty. The selection of drinks is also okay. Only the service and the processes could not convince. Although only about 20 guests fit in the room and at least 5 service staff were present, the waiting times were relatively long or something was always forgotten and apparently often useless journeys were made. This leads to a rather restless atmosphere in the relatively small dining room.

in my top 5 dining experiences for sure, amazingly attentive service, world class food and delicious free surprises from the kitchen. This place is the real deal, appetizer, entrée and dessert was absolutely phenomenal.

I came to the place based on the 14 up to date 5/5 star review. The location is at the back of a village not very close to the lake. So view rating is 1/5. Parking might be an issue since it's with a crowded neighborhood. You cannot enter the restaurant with your jacket regardless. The staff seemed to be welcoming. We sat at the bar since we don't have reservations, and thats were the story starts. To be fare, one lady explained the menu in English to us. Verity, not so much only few dishes. We ordered a starter that I will post a picture of for €17. We thought from the menu description that the dish will make us full. The dish looked like "in my opinion" like Pedigree food that I buy sometimes for my dog, although they claim it's pasta with truffle. We have requested wifi password few times and no response, even from the management. Staff and people were checking out what we were wearing such as watches, and clothing. We were just some tourists that are having a great time. I felt we were discriminated because we were wearing Nike shoes and winter jumpers. I ordered the check and left. All in all, it's not a touristy place, maybe a place for locals to show off. The picture shows the dish as received. Edit on my review. Googlers, kindly read the feedback from the "owner" and you will make the call. I don't have the time to reply to fake claims and the story mentioned is spiced up. Thanks to google to give us the freedom of feedback even if business owners don't like it. All in all, I wish you have done the same effort for your restaurant as you did in your reply.

Known as the best restaurant in the town we had great expactations for the Essbar. We ordered mixed starters and a sushi mix of yellow fish tuna. The tune was the best sushi I have ever tasted in my life, it was a composition of three variations, they were amazing and by themselfs worth the visit. I had a flap steak as main course which was perfectly on point, but however the side dishes were unfortunately underperforming. My fiance ordered something with a very fancy name I dont remember anymore but it was basically a classic Wiener schnitzel. Both the main course and the starters were besides the side dishes extraordinary good. The final course consisted of a chocolate fondue with fruits, unfortunately this did not come up to the otherwise great food and tasted only averagely. We did not like the wine which was recommended and served to the food, but however this is a personal opinion and does not reflect the quality of the wine or the choosing. The waiters were swift and very friendly, the owner came to present the various steak options on the table. Alltogether Essbar is a really really good, yet pricey, restaurant. The food deserves its 5 stars rating, but however considering the price we expected a more complete experience, which is why we choose to only rate 4 stars. Totally recommended, but pricey.

Very well cooked steaks and excellent selection of meat cuts. The staff is very attentive and the place itself is cosy - a wonderful choice for a dinner in Pertisau!
