Im Oratorium des Doms befindet sich das Dommuseum. Josef Lahnsteiner hatte bereits seit den 20iger Jahren eine eigene Sammlung gegründet, welche bei der Domweihe 1954 ausgestellt wurden Der Beschluss ein Museum zu eröffnen erfolgte 1972. Ausgestellt werden die Kunstschätze des Doms und verschiedener Salzburger Kirchen. Zum Besuch kommt man über die Orgelempore der Hauptorgel. Sehenswert ist das mit Stuckaturen und Gemälden besonders prachtvoll ausgestattete Rupertusoratorium.
Cathedral Museum
The cathedral museum is located in the oratory of the cathedral. Josef Lahnsteiner had already founded his own collection in the 1920s, which was exhibited at the cathedral consecration in 1954. The decision to open a museum was made in 1972. The art treasures of the cathedral and various Salzburg churches are exhibited. You can visit the organ gallery of the main organ.
