Zu meiner Freude konnte ich auch einen Forschungsreisenden entdecken, den ich vor Jahrzehnten noch persönlich kennenlernen dürfte. Diesmal nahmen wir das Mittagessen im Schlossrestaurant ein, das im schönen Schlosshof zu unserer vollsten Zufriedenheit ausfiel, ebenso das nachmittägige erfrischende Eisdessert. Beides empfehlenswert! Every year an interesting exhibition on the beautifully renovated Schallaburg, this year about travel. To my delight, I was also able to discover a researcher whom I was able to get to know personally decades ago. This time we had lunch in the castle restaurant, which turned out to be to our complete satisfaction in the beautiful castle courtyard, as well as the refreshing ice cream dessert in the afternoon. Both recommended!

Da ich schwanger bin habe ich darum gebeten, das Fleisch gut durchzubraten. Der Kellner sich persönlich um meinen Wunsch gekümmert und sich auch später nochmals erkundigt, ob es die Küche richtig gemacht hat. So habe ich mich sehr gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Delicious food and great ambience (Burghof). I especially like to highlight the friendliness of the staff. Since I'm pregnant, I asked to cook the meat well. The waiter personally took care of my request and later asked again whether the kitchen did the right thing. So I felt that I was in very good hands.

Die Qualität der Speisen, das Ambiente im Schloßhof und die Freundlichkeit und Fürsorge des Personals sind der historischen und beeindruckenden Anlage wohl angemessen. Sehr zu empfehlen. A great way to round off a visit to the Schallaburg. The quality of the food, the ambience in the castle courtyard and the friendliness and care of the staff are well suited to the historic and impressive grounds. We recommend.

Service findet allerdings nicht nach einem Standard statt, sondern ist abhängig vom Kellner, den man gerade bekommt. Der eine wirklich bemüht und freundlich, der andere jenseits jeder (Un-)Höflichkeitsgrenze. Positiv anzumerken ist, dass es auch 2 vegane Gerichte gibt - dafür 4 statt sonst nur 3 aus meiner Sicht zu vergebenden *. Eating better than expected, even if the proportion of non-industrial goods in the dishes could definitely be higher. However, service does not take place according to a standard, but depends on the waiter you get. The one really hard-working and friendly, the other beyond any (dis) politeness limit. On the positive side, there are also 2 vegan dishes - 4 instead of the usual 3, in my opinion *.
