A mixed bag. We had breakfast here twice, the staff were pleasant and helpful, the breakfast options were OK but not huge outside the set options. Nice soft-boiled eggs! We then had dinner there one evening, and it was disappointing. The service wasn't great, we waited around 15 minutes for our drinks after ordering. We were told to just turn up at 8pm, because they didn't reserve tables and it wouldn't be a problem. As a group of 4 we were asked to sit at a place with a narrow small table because it was the only one available, and although the waitress added a small table on the end it didn't help much. As the plates were rectangular, being wide and thin, it turned out to be not a huge problem, just irritating. And I noticed there were "reserved" signs for placing on tables. The actual food was acceptable, although the mixed salad was poor value - potato salad, chunks of parboiled cauliflower, and lettuce. No cucumber, no tomatoes. The service just happened, but not with a smile, and not very welcoming. All in all, I'd recommend it for breakfast, but there are much nicer places to have an evening meal and we wouldn't go back unless desperate.

Local. Something tourists might not appreciate. Solid food, though careful with the side dishes. They add up the price fast.

This seems to be popular place among locals and also some tourists, although it was not even half full when we arrived. They offer everything an ordinary tourist would like - Wiener Kaiserschmarrn, Vienner Melagne (coffee), Sacher Torte. The Sacher Torte (Sacher cake) was with real whipped cream made of real cream, not the chemical nonsense out of the bottle with the weird Nitrous oxide flavour. The staff could be, however, more warmhearted. She was polite, but somehow cold. When I asked how long (roughly) the Kaiserscharrn will take, after being asked by her if we want to bring everything together or first the coffee and Sacher, she answered "about 15 minutes" with a tone as we should know.. But other than that, I recommend visiting. Nice and quiet place

What an absolute pleasure to dine in this picturesque cafe! I had the lamb Schnitzel with fries, which was delicious. The amount of Schnitzel I received could've easily filled the largest of bellies. The cakes that are served here, are house-made as well. The traditional decor of this cafe is absolutely stunning. It screams Vienna and is cozy and light at the same time. At the time I was there, service was quick and very friendly. The menus are completely in English. The prices are very moderate, especially considering this cafe is located across the street from the Rathaus. I'd recommend this cafe for anything from a relaxed melange to a full on dinner!
