★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went there in the morning (having a reservation).
The food was delicious - the best ham omlete I have ever tried and a big portion at that. As dessert I had the famous pancakes - again a very big plate. I could not eat all.
The interior is quite impressive.
The serving was prompt and very nice.
I enjoyed not having to listen to music.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Iconic 150 year old Cafe in the true centre of Vienna. Central has been visited by the most important historical figures of the 20th century Stalin, Hitler, Tito, and Trotsky. They all lived in Vienna between two World wars. It’s a beautiful room, with great service and ambiance. There is live piano playing. Good spot anytime of the day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you ask for recommendations for cafe in district 1 this will no doubt top in the search results.
And there is every reason to come to cafe central. The pastries and dessert are so good, like the traditional austrian dessert include scrambled pancakes with plum sauce, chocolate cake, hot chocolate drink etc makes you so happy. The pianist plays jolly songs in beautiful architecture and interior decor makes you feel like royalty dining. You have to come here to experience it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One should visit for the experience ! you always end up having a queue to get in but it worth the wait for the ambiance! Established in 1876 it is definitely worth visiting once. Service could be a little slow ..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cafe Central is located in the heart of Vienna and has a long and storied history. I found out about it by looking through some reviews and we decided to give it a try as we found ourselves nearby while shopping.
We arrived mid-afternoon and there was a line of about 10 groups waiting to get in. I imagine it can be a significant wait if you arrive during more popular times and there isn't anywhere to really shelter if the weather is poor, so keep that in mind. The line did move fairly quickly so our wait was about 15-20 minutes.
The interior is beautiful and while the menu isn't extensive, they have a nice selection of desserts, coffees, and food. We opted to try the Viennese soup, a sandwich, a couple of desserts (including their signature chocolate cake), and some coffee and latte.
The service was very friendly and prompt, and every seat was filled with people. The soup was lukewarm and the sandwich was OK, but both were filling and not bad. Both desserts were delicious but the mango/coconut was a little better than the chocolate in our opinion. Everything looked great when it came out.
Overall the Cafe had decent food, a great ambiance, and good service. I wouldn't make any special effort to return however but it was nice to have stopped by.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must visit in Vienna! Located in the city center, the building and interior is very beautiful with the vintage vibe. Various dishes from traditional Viennese cuisine to pastries to choose from, and the staffs are all very friendly. I went there on a Tuesday morning 8:00 and was very empty, only after 9:00 people started to come in, but I still recommend to make a reservation beforehand.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very famous cafe. Normally you will have to wait outside for at least a couple of minutes or maybe even half an hour. The place itself is impressive and the staff is very efficient in service.
You can eat lunch there - they have local shniztel and hot dogs etc., but it seems that most of the visitors come for a coffee and a cake.
The cakes look great but the taste is not something out of the ordinary, it is not too sweet which is a good thing in my taste, but there was nothing special.
In total it is worth a one-time visit to the place, just because it's a very famous cafe...
