Wunderschöne Burgruine. Großer Parkplatz. Innenbereich d.
Wonderful castle ruins. Big parking lot. Interior d. Castle grounds with many seating options. You can guess the size of the castle and if you climb 180 steps to the keep, you have a great overview.

Grande visuale.
These are the ruins of a large medieval castle, of great historical importance, in a panoramic position on the top of a hill. Built around 1150 by the powerful Julbach counts, of Bavarian origin who later took the name of Schaumberger. The large castle, with 4 moats and 2 drawbridges, was their main stronghold. Having entered the war against the Habsburgs in 1380, they were defeated and lost part of their power. The castle lost importance already in the sixteenth century and in the eighteenth century, it fell into disrepair. Today its consolidated ruins can be visited. It can be reached by car and the visit costs 1 euro. With a ladder, you can reach the top of the tower (32 meters high ..). Great view.

The highlight of our day trip was this intersting place. It has one very high wall, maybe 8 floors high, which we climbed, and got superb view of the entire area
