M	Mariela H. on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sehr schöne Burgruine die der Sage nach durch einen Kirschkern zu Fall kam. Schöner Weg durch den Wald. Auch für Kinder geeignet. Der Turm ist über Gittertreppen zu besteigen - von oben ein toller Ausblick. Very beautiful castle ruins which, according to legend, fell through a cherry stone. Nice path through the forest. Also suitable for children. The tower can be climbed via lattice stairs - a great view from the top.
S	Seb. B. on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nette, gut erhaltene, aber kleine Burgruine mit schöner Aussicht auf die Donau. Es war eine schöne und leichte Wanderung (ca. 6km) – Startpunkt war Hotel Donauschlinge (gebührenpflichtiger Parkplatz – Parkgebühr wird aber im Hotel Donauschlinge erstattet, wenn man dort um 15 Euro Speisen und/oder Getränke konsumiert). Dort sind wir mit der Donau Radfähre auf die andere Seite rüber. Drüben angekommen sind wir Richtung Jausenstation „Zur Fährfrau“ gegangen. Von dort kann man dann über einen Waldweg zur Burgruine Haichenbach hinauf wandern. Weg ist einfach und mit wenig Anstrengung zu gehen. Es bieten sich auch einige schöne Aussichtspunkte. Wir gingen diesen Weg mit unseren Kindern (5J, 9J, 11J). Festes Schuhwerk/Wanderschuhe würde ich aber empfehlen. Bei der Ruine angekommen hat man einen schönen Blick auf die Donau und den umliegenden Wald. Eine Rastmöglichkeit ist ebenfalls vorhanden. Rückweg war über den gleichen Weg wie wir gekommen sind, nur sind wir dann mit der Radfähre Au (bei der Jausenstation Zur Fährfrau) wieder auf die andere Seite und von dort dann retour nach Schlögen gegangen. In Schlögen sind wir dann noch im Hotel Donauschlinge auf ein Bierchen und Pommes eingekehrt. Für einen Nachmittagsausflug, vor allem bei schönem Herbstwetter (Herbstfärbung Bäume) wirklich empfehlenswert. Unser Glück war, dass hier ein Teil des Radweges aktuell gesperrt ist und daher (fast) keine Radfahrer unterwegs waren. Somit sehr angenehm und entspannend zu gehen ohne ständig auf den Verkehr achten zu müssen... Bei normalem Radverkehr muss man schon sehr auf den (Rad)verkehr achten... ist dann sicher nicht mehr ganz so entspannend. Nice, well-preserved, but small castle ruins with a beautiful view of the Danube. It was a nice and easy hike (approx. 6km) - starting point was Hotel Donauschlinge (paid parking lot - parking fee will be reimbursed at Hotel Donauschlinge if you consume food and / or drinks there for 15 euros). There we took the Danube bike ferry over to the other side. Arrived over there we went towards the snack station “Zur Fährfrau”. From there you can hike up a forest path to the Haichenbach castle ruins. The path is easy to walk with little effort. There are also some nice viewpoints. We went this way with our children (5Y, 9Y, 11Y). I would recommend sturdy shoes / hiking boots. When you arrive at the ruins you have a beautiful view of the Danube and the surrounding forest. There is also a possibility to rest. The way back was the same way we came, only we then took the Au cycle ferry (at the Zur Fährfrau snack bar) to the other side and from there back to Schlögen. In Schlögen we stopped at the Hotel Donauschlinge for a beer and french fries. For an afternoon excursion, especially when the weather is nice in autumn (autumn colors of the trees), it is really recommended. Our luck was that part of the bike path is currently closed and therefore (almost) no cyclists were on the way. So it is very pleasant and relaxing to walk without constantly having to pay attention to the traffic ... With normal bicycle traffic you have to be very careful about the (bicycle) traffic ... it is then certainly not that relaxing anymore.
P	PreVoLuTiioN on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sehr gut erhaltene und schöne Burgruine. Man hat einen sehr schön Ausblick auf dem Turm. Auch für Familien scheint es ein sehr guter Platz zu sein wo auch Kinder ihren Spaß haben können. Der Gehweg zur Burgruine war um die 15 Minuten von den Parkplätzen weg. Google Maps zeigte aber leider nicht den korrekten weg an womit es leider zur einer verzögerten Ankunft kam. Aber alles in einem sehr weiter zu empfehlen. Very well preserved and beautiful castle ruins. You have a very nice view of the tower. Also for families it seems to be a very good place where children can have fun. The walkway to the castle ruins was about 15 minutes away from the parking lots. Unfortunately, Google Maps did not show the correct route, which unfortunately resulted in a delayed arrival. But all in one very recommendable.
