Beautiful and well preserved medieval castle. It is easy to reach on foot from Mötz, Mieming or Obsteig via hiking trails. The castle itself is located on a rocky outcrop and is connected to a wooden bridge that leads across the natural gorge. It is very steep around the castle. The tower rises about 20 meters high and has a crowned with 4 battlements, round shape. It is very romantic and quiet. A small waterfall is also there in the gorge, which is directly encountered when climbing from Mötz. Shortcoming: Since the castle is privately owned and is also inhabited, there is no way to visit the castle interior. Nevertheless, it is a very impressive and handsome attraction, as it is preserved and brings us back to the 1600th century. Thank you for receiving so that we can enjoy it for a long time.

Great beautiful klamm with waterfall and castle / castle. The castle is privately owned so cannot be visited (but very beautiful). Route to the waterfall is easy to do with children. Unfortunately we could not go further down to the stream because of collapsed paths.

Little advertised, it is located in one of the most beautiful nature areas in Tyrol, close to the road leading to the Fernpass or Seefeld, high above the wall of a canyon. Someone will recognize it because it was used for a television series (also broadcast in Italy) entitled "the doctor in the clouds". The castle dates back to the 12th century, and despite its long history, it is in excellent condition. It stands out for its high round tower detached from the rest of the other buildings and can be reached via a wooden bridge that crosses the abyss on the canyon. It can be reached in a few km, traveling in the direction of Obsteig, with a road branch that starts to the left, leaving the village of Fronhausen. Also nice is the short path that leads to a waterfall that forms a small lake, just below the castle, in the canyon. The castle is private, not open to the public.
