I relied on the reviews here to choose a store for resoling my hiking boots. Great store but don't bother with a hiking boot sole replacement... Store: Great atmosphere and nice selection of hiking and Alpine boots. Staff: Competent and friendly. We had a nice talk and they gave some good advice. One of the shoe makers speaks English which was very helpful for me. What I needed: I brought my Zamberlan leather hiking boots to resole them and get holes fixed inside the boots at the back of the heels. There are two options for resoling: surface resole (65€) and total resole where the entire rubber is replaced (105€). I was told I need to do the latter since the rubber had deteriorated. Fixing the inside of the heels is 20€ (I decided to do this part myself). Final result: They did an OK job but my expectations were higher. The finish of the band that reaches from the sole over the leather could have been cut more even and made a bit higher (thicker; as discussed while holding one of their boots off the shelf). Also, the soles seem very hard and stiff (maybe this will change with time). MOST IMPORTANTLY: The boots now hurt my feet. I went back to show the uneven parts inside the boot (the footbed which makes contact with the insole / your foot) and I was told it was not their fault. There is a bump which I can clearly feel... no fix... no discount.. no insole offered...  I didn't expect the boots to be  like new but I also didn't expect that they would hurt my feet - which they never have before. As of right now I do NOT recommend resoling with this particular sole (which was not a Zamberlan sole). I will aslo try some other insoles maybe that will help. After a break-in period (a month or two), I will try to update this review. Update after 8 months: The hardness has broken in a bit but unfortunately the bump persists (and has caused significant pain to my left foot). I'm very disappointed....

Best Vienna location for purchasing mountain climbing shoes. Great cobbler work done on my boots. I've been a customer for over 10 years.

The gentleman in the shop was very helpful and patient. They sell all kinds of shoes, not just hiking boots. Recommended.
