★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The highlight of our visit to St. Gilgen. Take the Zwolferhorn cable car to the top of mountain. The views are spectacular, if the weather is clear you will be able to see the surrounding lakes of Salzkammergut.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved our trip up on the cable car to the observation platform. Cold day and not particularly busy, but it was initially clear and the views were amazing. Watched the weather roll in up the valley and a blizzard then hit us - a salient lesson in respecting the weather conditions and it was nice to be able to jump on the cable car and get back down to St Gilgen. We were in St Gilgen again this month and the cable car station has gone - looks like they are upgrading and building a new one. It’s a shame to have missed the opportunity to go up there again.
