Room for improvement is available, but otherwise a nice pastime.

In 1492 the house belonged to the master baker Leonhart Reisner, who was murdered here with his wife, child, maid and baker on November 23, 1500 by the journeyman baker Bartholomäus. The murderer was whacked on March 1, 1501. The house then came to the baker Christoph Klaubenstein and remained almost exclusively in the possession of bakers until 1670. In that year it was acquired by Count Ferdinand Bonaventura Harrach, who united it with the adjoining Freihaus, whereupon the shield and name disappeared. In 1819 the house was acquired by the Oesterreichische Nationalbank and redesigned for them from 1821-1823 by Charles de Moreau and Paul Sprenger.

This building, also known as the home of the Five Homicides, is located in the historic center of Vienna, and its macabre notoriety began in 1500, when its owner (a baker) was assassinated along with his son, his wife, his maid and a baker's help from an Italian journalist. Since then he has passed several properties and has partially changed appearance, but his sad story and the name that derived from it have come down to us.
