Die Hütte ist eine Wanderung wert. Sehr reichhaltige Speisekarte für jedermann und Top Aussicht. Und der Weg dahin ist eigentlich auch für ungeübte zu schaffen.
The hut is worth the hike. Very extensive menu for everyone and a great view. And the way there is actually manageable even for the inexperienced.

Nice welcome from the host. Our shared room was modern and large. The washrooms are also very spacious and there is even a hair dryer. The food was delicious, the breakfast buffet was very generous.

I had an awful experience here and actually ended up not staying and walking over 3 hours to the next available accommodation. I was booked here but the two hosts were so rude and unwelcoming. It was like they were trying to be as difficult as possible to make you understand they are doing you a huge favour. The guy is particularly aggressive. Do NOT take your dog here! They clearly dislike dogs (and people) so why they say a dog can stay in the first place I really dont know. Cant comment on the food or accommodation as I didnt stay long enough to find out and was pretty glad I walked rather than endure that their treatment for any length of time

Summary: deliberately poor hygiene; offensive and unpleasant staff. The young fellow asking for papers please, and to fill in this form, seemed to be enjoying the pandemic-gov-enforcement aspects of his job a little too much. Never mind. Ordered a drink, and then a plate of food. Heard a string of sneezes from the indoor space, the front room (we were outside). Clearly no attempt to cover, or to hold in, or to go to toilet or outside space. Then more such sneezes. This is disgusting and has a much bigger impact on infection than papers please and fill in this form. It is socially unacceptable. I mentioned this to the waiter, saying I was surprised they did not have a word with the sneezer, to prevent further infection of the indoor space. The waiter said he could not do this, because the sneezer was the son of the owner. The implication seemed to be that therefore it was not unhygienic, or perhaps that family members are allowed to spray their snot however they like over public indoor spaces in an establishment serving food and drink, I'm not sure. The waiter also emphasised that it was not the kitchen, it was another room (through which food was being taken, and seemed to be the main indoor space open to the public). Processing this information over the next minute, I lost any confidence in the hygiene of the place. I mean, even apart from the sneezing, if the staff are trained to think the owner's kid is exempt from any hygiene norms, the risk of serious hygiene issues is too high to eat there. So I said excuse me to the waiter, and asked to cancel the food I'd ordered. He ummed and ahhed, saying it may not be possible, but he could talk to someone and see. I said just cancel it; I'm cancelling it on grounds of hygiene. Then the owner comes, visibly angry and aggressive. I repeat that I'd like to cancel the food I ordered. The owner says that if I have a problem with his son sneezing out, then he has a problem with me, and I should leave. He says something else about not wanting games. I'm unclear exactly which part of can celling food because of unacceptable and deliberate poor hygiene by the owner is a game. However, telling a stroppy customer to go away is one of the joys of having one's own business, and if I'm asked to leave someone else's property, then of course I should leave, and so I left. But the property aspects of ejecting a stroppy customer are not the only parts of the law that can apply here. Austria has food safety standards, and pandemic hygiene rules. I don't know in detail whether it might be a breach of the law for an owner of a restaurant to deliberately encourage his son to spray snot all over the indoor customer area, enforcing this with a policy that staff may not speak out against it, and that customers speaking out against it are ejected from the premises. From a common-sense perspective, it does not fall within normal food safety standards, nor within socially-acceptable behaviour during a pandemic of a respiratory infection, nor within socially-acceptable behaviour at any other time. I think the food safety people have to go with measurements during inspections, rather than anecdotes about behaviour. Do they swab indoor surfaces for snot?
